FAQ
What are Privascape panels made of?
Our panels are made of an exterior grade medium density fiberboard often used for exterior window and door trim.
How do I install my Privascape privacy panels?
There are multiple different mounting options: Panels can be mounted between wood or steel posts, can be mounted to a fence, railing or wall, hung by cable or chain from a cross beam on a pergola, or ground mounted using our steel mounts.
Can the panels be used in all weather conditions?
Yes, the panels are meant to be placed outdoors. We use a quality Sherwin Williams paint called Duration. Essentially, the same exterior paint that is on homes is on our panels.
Are the panels customizable in terms of size and design?
Yes, we offer a full custom design service. Work with one of our designers or submit your own design. Please refer to the Custom tab for further information.
Can the panels be used for both residential and commercial spaces?
Definitely!
How do I maintain and clean the panels?
A simple garden hose and mild soapy water can keep your panels looking fresh.
Are the panels easy to move or reposition?
Yes and it depends on your choice of mounting. Most panel installations are simply bolted to the mountings or hung by cable via eyelets. Panels that are mounted to structures or walls can be easily moved, but the remaining holes will have to be dealt with.
Can the panels be used around pools or hot tubs?
Yes, around hot tub areas and pools are prime examples of privacy provided by our panels.
What are the benefits of using Privascape panels over traditional fences?
Our panels have the decorative element that fences do not and can be customized to suit your home and style.
Do you offer installation services?
Unfortunately, we do not offer installation services. We can offer mounting suggestions and, in many cases, recommend contractors to complete your installation.
How do I choose the right design or style for my outdoor space?
Many factors can go into this decision. First, decide if you would prefer custom panels or one of our current designs. The integration of plants and our panels make for what we consider the most ideal landscaping scenario.
Are the panels resistant to UV rays and fading?
Our panels are resistant to UV rays. However, just as house paint fades over time, the panels may fade as well. The amount of fading is dependent on placement of your panels and your environment. For instance, here in CO our sun is very intense and will fade paint faster than say panels placed in the Pacific NW or Midwest.
How long do Privascape panels last?
With proper care and maintenance they can last a lifetime.
Can the panels be used to block out noise, or just provide visual privacy?
While our panels are solid they can help block noise but will not "block out" noise.
What is the lead time for ordering and receiving my panels?
Typically, 1-2 weeks lead time is required.
Do the panels require any special tools for installation?
Depends on the mounting method chosen. Most mounting options only require screws or carriage bolts, but others like mounting between steel posts to a concrete pad require more skill and tools to complete.
Are there any restrictions on where the panels can be used (e.g., zoning regulations)?
Please check with your local codes and HOA rules.
How do the panels hold up in high winds or storms?
With the right mounting choice the panels can handle your typical wind and storms.
Can the panels be used to create a private outdoor dining or entertainment space?
Definitely! Our panels have the ability to define and transform outdoor space.
What is the best way to integrate Privascape panels with my existing landscaping?
Taking pictures of the space you are considering placing the panels, printing the pictures out, then simply drawing the panels into and around your landscape can help you visualize the space.
